I was going to write this morning about a couple of things (if I had enough time) - one purely trivial and one not the least bit trivial. I was going to express mock outrage about one, and true, choking outrage about the other.
And then - rather than come straight here to write, I checked my email first instead.
And I have pictures! Sent out a roll of film the other day and they've emailed me the prints (with the real ones to follow in the mail soon) - and so I stopped and looked at them instead. And they made me laugh.
A couple of shots from a brew day - probably last fall - lovely shot of the brew pot high atop its cinder block altar...and some kind of mess on the ground - must have boiled over I think. Next shot - Bill holding Alex beside the brew pot, and Alex holding the really, really big wooden spoon that Bill and John use to stir whatever's in the brew pot (think American Gothic only the people are smiling...and a bit more youthful)...then some pictures of Alex in his high chair - something dark smeared all over his tray and his face...I'm thinking raspberries, blueberries, or chocolate. He looks quite content.
A few pictures from one of the snowstorms we had this winter - the snow is piled up on top of the window box outside our front living room window - you can see the layers - and some poor long-dead geranium flattened up against the window pane....more pictures of Alex in our incredibly messy (at the time) kitchen -OH - that's right, he was cooking something. There's a big pot on his little Playskool drawing table, and the pot has long strips of paper sticking out of it...must be spaghetti that night....other shots...him riding in his red wagon on the way to the playground...Alex climbing at the playground...Alex outside in our barren wasteland of a back yard, staring at the empty garden...Alex and Bill squeezing the juice from 14 lemons (this was limoncello day)...and last - a couple of slightly blurry shots of Bill, Alex, and Elmo all doing the Hokey Pokey in the kitchen - all (except Elmo) in their pajamas.
And that's all I've got time for this morning. Have to get ready for work now. Yippee, it's Friday!
